About this site

This site exists for one reason: most skincare marketing tells you what a product isn’t (“natural,” “chemical-free,” “non-toxic”) instead of what it actually is. None of those terms are regulated in cosmetics, which means they don’t tell you anything useful about whether a product will work for sensitive, reactive, or barrier-compromised skin.

We do something different. We read the actual ingredient list, look at the formulation as a whole, and explain what it means in plain terms — what’s likely to help a damaged barrier, what’s likely to irritate reactive skin, and what’s genuinely just marketing.

How we choose what to cover

What we’re not

We’re not dermatologists, and nothing here replaces a diagnosis or treatment plan from a licensed professional. See our Medical Disclaimer for the full picture. We’re also not affiliated with any single skincare brand — our goal is to help you understand ingredients well enough to make your own call, on any product, from any brand.

If you have a question, a correction, or a product you’d like us to look at, you can reach us through our contact page.
